HOW IT ALL STARTED

SP Business Group® was started as a freelancing project by its founder Samuel Pedro. From his parents’ living room in Odivelas – Lisboa, and his desire to live and start working towards a childhood dream, this is, being a businessman, a professor, and researcher, while working with different industries that we love and being able to feel freer and more fulfilled.

Sam decided to put to work his skills and knowledge, using what he had at the time, and accordingly to the place he was.

First, he needed to find a place where he could help people solving their problems, and getting something in return for doing it. After research, he came by a freelancing platform – Zaask, and he started where he thought it would be easier.

Sam started doing by himself a logo, a website, a brief business plan, an email, and investing 63,96€ on a freelancing platform. From there, SP – Business, Consulting & Development – Solutions for Companies and Individuals was born.

After three days in the market, Sam was able to find the first client, a man who needed to update his resume and curriculum vitae, while having better-written content, a better-looking design, and a more structured document that would enable reviewers to think differently about him, positioning him ahead of competitors.

Sam took the challenge and soon found that the world had a place for his ideas and skills, doing something that he liked while taking charge of his life, decisions, and destiny. The first big step had been taken, and Sam found out that the solution for his problem, was indeed helping people solve their problems and finding effective solutions to those problems so people could grow, develop themselves and go forward with their life to get the results they wanted.

In the next 5 months, Sam was able to continue solving people’s problems, helping them showcase their life and professional experience differently through the words written, the aesthetic applied, and the strategy and structure gathered in the document form, content,  and design, allowing his clients to get the job they wanted, live their dream, and get better results using his knowledge, skills, and tools.

During that time, he started helping people to prepare for interviews, training their communication and speech skills, planing their lives and their careers, creating and delivering consulting and training for long-life learning, analyzing and profiling organizations, aligning the candidates at the same time.

Soon, other opportunities started appearing in Sam’s path. People wanted to start a business and needed help in the same processes he had been through, not a long time ago. From logos, websites, planning, registering and managing a brand, social media, content ideas, training, to bits of advice to see, think, feel, and do differently.

Meanwhile, Sam continued his formal education and pursued other courses and training, to satisfy his curiosity and needs but, most of all, to be more prepared to solve other people’s problems, and leading their way to a life of further growth, development, and better results.

These were the main challenges and requirements, that led to the early creation, growth, and development of SP – Business, Consulting & Development. After a while, with more problems solved and a team helping him, Sam wanted to continue creating the life he wanted and solving problems for people, businesses, and brands. Therefore, two other projects were created.

In 2019, after a small phase of testing and planning, Ed.forPEOPLE – Education and Training Agency, and Sport Project- Innovation and Development Agency were created and launched by SP Business.

Soon, the team and the project found out that they needed to create a more structured way of presenting themselves to people and the market. So, a decision was made, to create SP Business Group®, the main company of a group that wants to continue the journey of growing and developing their people, their businesses, and their brands.

While solving problems and finding solutions, we never forget the way forward – that is, innovating the way people, businesses, and brands think, do and act, whilst trusting themselves and others, and fostering positive and long term relationships, promoting transformation through actions that aim to help people, businesses and brands to grow, develop, and get results while bettering and enhancing their performance.

We are different because we think different, feel different and do differently in the ways we look and solve problems. We count on meta principles and meta concepts, all of which allow us as a team to face a problem, think freely, ask differently, discovering the solution, growing, changing, and repeating.

We solve problems in different ways, and we get different results.
